Colophon

This site is hosted and powered by Tumblr and the design was done by yours truly is laid out using the Blueprint CSS framework with a healthy dose of custom styling—created using SASS. The lion’s share of the writing is done using John Gruber’s Markdown preprocessor and is written using either TextMate or Tumblr’s default editor.

Typography

The heading is set in League Gothic, an open source font by the fine folks at the League of Movable Type and delivered by the wonderful Typekit. The remainder of the text on this page is set in Museo Sans.

Equipment

I tend, more often than not, to create alphanumeric characters in digital format using an Apple iMac personal computer from the year 2010. Well, either that or an iPhone 4 or Apple iPad 2.

Grammar

I am a proponent of logical punctuation—even if the MLA and APA disagree with me. A few years ago, I moved from the New York Times-inspired title case (e.g. “Local man bites a dog”) to the more conventional-style (e.g. “Local Man Bites a Dog”). When I come across some of my older writing, I usually update the title casing. That said, I’m sure there are plenty of instances of my older style littered throughout this site. I’m obsessive—but not that obsessive.
